BATA FASHION WEEKEND | MILAN, ITALY

Those who follow me on social media know that last month I got to be part of the most incredible opportunity! The Big Brown Eyes got the chance to join team Bata Bolivia and go to Milan, Italy to an amazing press trip and be part of their Bata Fashion Weekend. For those of you who do not know about this, Bata Fashion Weekend is a whole weekend filled with exciting fashion events and Bata reunites brand ambassadors, bloggers, influencers and executives from all over the world. They have international presence in over 70 countries and have over 5,000 shoe stores! I bet you didn't know that right? The Big Brown Eyes was present to document every step of the way and got to live this experience with you through our social media platforms. In a single weekend, I got to tell you not only about the diverse activities we participated in, but I also got to show you what you all are here for- the fashion! To top it all of, I got to live it all with Anabel Angus, a dear friend and brand ambassador for Bata in Bolivia. Without further ado, all about this incredible experience is below for you all to relive it with me- this is Bata Fashion Weekend "The Sound of Style". 

Aquellos que me siguen por las redes saben que el mes pasado tuve la increíble oportunidad de viajar como parte del equipo de Bata Bolivia a Milano, Italia para el Bata Fashion Weekend. Para aquellos que no conocen todavía, Bata Fashion Weekend es un fin de semana de eventos junto a la marca Bata que reúne a embajadores de marca , bloggers, influencers y ejecutivos de todas partes del mundo ya que cuenta con su presencia internacional en más de 70 países y tiene más de 5,000 tiendas. A que no sabían eso verdad? The Big Brown Eyes estuvo presente como equipo para poder mostrarles cada minuto de esta experiencia en nuestras redes a través de fotografías y videos. En un fin de semana pude contarles no solo sobre las diversas actividades pero también pude mostrarles todos mis looks y como los combiné con los calzados Bata que se encuentran en Bolivia. Esta experiencia la vivimos también con Anabel Angus- una persona muy querida y embajadora de la marca Bata Bolivia! Adelante les muestro todo lo que fué el Bata Fashion Weekend, "The Sound of Style"- un evento inspirado en el diseño y la música. 

BATA STORE VISIT AT VIA DANTE

The first day and the first activity we got to be part of was the visit to the iconic Bata store in Via Dante. Here we got to enjoy a show, a meet and greet with bloggers and influencers from all over the world and we also got the chance to meet Thomas Archer Bata who is not only 4th generation descendant of the founder but the brand's Chief Marketing Officer of Bata Global. For all you fashion lovers, I got to see the latest collections in stores and all of the amazing global trends you will get to wear this season! 

El primer dia tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar la icónica tienda de Bata en Milan en Via Dante. Aqui pudimos disfrutar de un show, de conocer bloggers e influencers de otros países y conocer también a Thomas Archer Bata que es descendiente directo del fundador y actualmente el chief marketing officer de Bata Global. Para todos ustedes que aman la moda igual que yo, pude ver de cerquita todos los increíbles calzados que ofrece la marca y pude adelantarme a la próxima temporada y ver que tendencias globales podrán ver para la primavera!

COCKTAIL DINNER AT ROSA GRAND HOTEL

Night one comes in and we attended a special cocktail dinner for all guests invited to the Bata Fashion Weekend. We got to share with people from all over the world: Peru, Colombia, Bangladesh, India, Canada, Chile, Phillipines, Italy and more!

La segunda actividad que tuvimos la vivimos ahi mismo donde nos estábamos hospedando, en el Rosa Grand Hotel. Una cena de cocktail y una hermosa oportunidad de compartir con toda la gente que habíamos conocido por la tarde. Nos reunimos con gente de todas partes del mundo: Peru, Colombia, Bangladesh, Canada, India, Chile, Filipinas, Italia y más!

DAY 2: ACTIVITIES AT PALAZZO MEZZANOTTE

Day two started off early and we were off to Palazzo Mezzanotte! The Bata organization had different stations prepared for us: from a DIY workshop for shoes to a dynamic photo booth station! We got a preview of the evening's fashion show and most important of all, we got to go through different shoe stations to get to know each and every shoe line that the brand has to offer. 

El día dos fué un dia muy movido y super entretenido donde pude mostrarles tanto desde el Palazzo Mezzanotte- una locación impresionante. Llegamos temprano para conocer todas las estaciones que los ejecutivos de Bata tenían para nosotros- desde una estación donde podíamos darle nuestro toque final a los calzados con pintura y pedrería como también una estación de fotos. Al mismo tiempo, pudimos apreciar un preview de lo que seria el fashion show durante la noche y varias estaciones de calzados donde pudimos conocer de cerca cada una de las lineas de la marca Bata. 

CHARLES PIGNAL | BATA HERITAGE

Without a doubt, the highlight of my day was getting to interview Charles Pignal- director of the Heritage group and great grandson of founder Tomas Bata. I was really (really) lucky to be given this opportunity to not only meet someone who develops such an interesting project but to be able to speak to a person that has the Bata brand in his blood. The Bata Heritage Project by Charles Pignal is a division launched in 2014 that focuses on relaunching the most iconic and authentic shoes of the brand in their 124 years of life. Bata Heritage has done the most amazing collaborations with their Bata Tennis shoe, such as collaborations with Comme des Garçons, Astro Boy, Star Wars and they will soon be launching Bata x Wilson! 

Sin duda alguna, el highlight de este día para mi fué poder entrevistar a Charles Pignal- director del grupo Heritage de la marca Bata y bisnieto del fundador. La verdad que fui muy afortunada de tener esta oportunidad de conocer a alguien que no solo trabaja para la marca pero mas que todo alguien que lleva la marca Bata en su sangre. El Bata Heritage Project de Charles Pignal es una division de la marca que se estableció el 2014 y se enfoca en relanzar los calzados mas icónicos y auténticos de los 124 años de la marca! Han hecho fantásticas colaboraciones con su clásico Bata Tennis con Comme des Garçons, Astro Boy, Star Wars y ahora lanzarán una nueva colaboración de Bata x Wilson! 

INTERVIEW WITH CHARLES PIGNAL | GROUP HERITAGE DIRECTOR

VIP EVENT AND BATA FASHION SHOW

To make things even greater- Charles Pignal was the host of the evening and of the much awaited Fashion Show. The night kicked off with the presentation of the 4 brand ambassadors for Bata: Andrea Serna from Colombia, Maya Ali from Pakistan, Lornah Kiplagat from Kenya, and our very own Anabel Angus from Bolivia. The show's theme and the theme of the event itself was The Sound of Style- where music, movement, and design were the protagonists. To end the event, we got to witness the journey of 11 finalists from the Politécnico Calzaturiero and UMPRUM universities that were selected to work alongside Bata to bring one of their inspirations to life in the Young Designers Challenge. This year's winner was Andrea Celeste Peggio with a beautiful brown scarpin that will be sold in Bata stores! 

El evento principal fué el fashion show donde Charles Pignal fue el host de la noche. La noche arrancó con la presentación de las cuatro embajadoras de la marca: Andrea Serna para Colombia, Maya Ali para Pakistan, Lornah Kiplagat de Kenya y por supuesto nuestra representante, Anabel Angus para Bolivia. El fashion show tuvo como tema The Sound of Style y el ambiente fué demás de divertido. Para finalizar, pudimos presenciar la premiacion del concurso Young Designers Challenge- concurso que se enfoca en fomentar y apoyar el talento joven de diseñadores de dos escuelas (Politécnico Calzaturiero de Padova y UMPRUM de Praga). 11 finalistas fueron seleccionados y pudieron trabajar con los mejores materiales y fueron dados los recursos necesarios para tomar sus inspiraciones y convertirlas en una realidad. La ganadora de esté año fue Andrea Celeste Beggio, estudiante del Politécnico y creadora de un hermoso escarpín marrón que será vendido en las tiendas Bata.

CITY TOUR | DUOMO VISIT | PHOTOSHOOT

Day 3 was about being tourists for a day- we walked around Milan, visited the Duomo and took tons of pictures while we were at it! 

El tercer dia aprovechamos de visitar un poco de la ciudad, conocer el Duomo por dentro y tomar fotografías como buenos turistas! 

RED LABEL, BATA COLLABORATION WITH ALDO

Last but certainly not least... I'm super excited to announce something that we got to learn firsthand on the trip. Bata has collaborated with the North American shoe group, ALDO to create a fun, young and fashion trendy collection for all of you! This new collection is for all those who love to use fashion to express yourselves and who are on top of the world trends and are eager to try them out. This collection inspired by streetstyle all over the world is already in stores for you to enjoy! 

Finalmente, despues de haberles mostrado tanto de lo que ví en Italia, les tengo una muy buena noticia para los amantes de la moda, aquellos que están encima de las ultimas tendencias en el mundo y aquellos que disfrutan de un calzado comodo y con mucho estilo. Bata ha lanzado una nueva colaboración con el grupo norte americano de calzados Aldo- para crear una coleccion capsule de calzados para la gente joven, moderna y para la mujer que ama expresarse a través de su vestir. La colección se encuentra ya en tiendas a nivel mundial, como también en Bolivia! Su gran lanzamiento es este sábado 2 de Junio.
